Admissions
Admissions Process
Bright Academy welcomes and admits qualified students regardless of race, creed, color, ethnic identity, or place of origin. Bright Academy is designed specifically for high-potential students whose primary diagnosis is dyslexia. The school does not admit students who struggle in school because of behavioral difficulties, severe attention problems, severe receptive and expressive language disorders, or less-than-average intellectual abilities.
-
Parents are encouraged to contact the school and request information. Initial questions regarding your student’s academics and a recent evaluation given by a qualified diagnostician will be requested. We can offer a free dyslexia screening to get the process started and if your child meets our criteria we will help guide you through the process.
-
Please contact us for a tour and it will be scheduled. A Parent Interview will be scheduled at this time for a later date.
-
Complete the application and return it with the required documentation. We require current report cards, a sample of classroom work from the teacher, discipline records, a Psychometrical Evaluation, if applicable, and an IEP or 504 plan, if applicable.
A panel of therapists will discuss submitted documentation to determine the viability of our program for the prospective student.

-
Admission to Bright Academy will be determined on the basis of diagnostic testing, teacher recommendations, and a personal visit with the student. Parents will be notified of their student’s admission status by telephone or in writing after review of all the data. If your child is not an appropriate match to our program, efforts will be made to provide guidance toward a suitable alternative program.
Upon acceptance into our program, families will be required to pay a one time new family enrollment fee of $200.00 and all other registration and supply fees. This will establish a place for the students in our program.
-
Students who have been accepted and placed on the waiting list may be enrolled as openings occur in the program by paying a $25.00 fee.
-
Enrollment is complete when the signed application and fees (Registration and Supply) are returned to the school.
