Today our students wrote over 100+ lines of code!
A group from Rural Sourcing, Inc. (RSI) visited our students today and taught them about programming and helped them participate in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is an event by code.org and is sponsored by many large companies such as Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon and more.
The students were first introduced to programming concepts by some of the RSI colleagues. They learned how to ‘talk’ to the computer with methods, if statements, and for loops. After the introduction to coding, the students were led through a Minecraft based game. In the game, the students had to use coding blocks to complete the levels.
The students were sent home with stickers and certificates and big smiles!!! We are very proud of what they accomplished!
