Bright Academy Charity Golf Tournament

Gear up for an exciting golf tournament at Springhill Golf Course on Saturday, May 11th! Starting at noon with registration at 11:00, we're seeking sponsors, players and volunteers to join the 4-person scramble. Compete for prizes, including special contests for the longest drive and putting. The $100 player fee covers the game, cart, green fees, meal and drinks. All proceeds benefit our school. Join us for a day of community, camaraderie and supporting education!

Dyslexia Myths Vs. Gifts: Reverse the Stigma

Description: This free community event is open to anyone interested in learning more about dyslexia and how it affects those diagnosed. We will have coffee while we chat with dyslexia therapists and specialists. It is open to parents, grandparents, teachers, educators, homeschool families and any childcare coordinator.

Topics include:

-What parents and caregivers can do to help their child succeed

-What educators need to know to facilitate success in the classroom

-How to advocate for the gifted dyslexic in your life.

Lego Competition

Designed to spark the creativity of young builders aged 4 to 13, LEGO Night promises an evening packed with excitement, contests and prizes. The doors swing open at 6:00 PM sharp, with the main event launching at 6:30 PM and running until 8:00 PM. With contests segmented by age groups—4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13+—participants will compete amongst their peers for top honors in creativity and construction.

Description: Join us for two days of learning, sharing, and fellowship on October 12 and 13, 2023. We are excited to have THREE nationally recognized keynote speakers and many breakout sessions over the two-day conference! We will have math, literacy, and family/student support strands woven throughout the conference in addition to our first-ever activities for children rising to dyslexia challenges! We are very excited to bring math intervention expert Dr. Paul Riccomini, literacy intervention expert and creator of Structured Word Inquiry, Dr. Pete Bowers and author Dr. Shawn Robinson (Dr. Dyslexia Dude) join us for keynote presentations and breakout sessions. We will also have a variety of Alabama experts join us as we share ideas and best practices to support students with dyslexia as they face reading and math challenges. Enjoy breakout sessions on various topics, including assistive technology, multisensory classroom strategies, and various sessions specifically for parents and students.
